Shower valve replacement (Temecula)

Shower valve replacement is one of the technical skills that many handymen do not have. I have been fortunate enough to work with a great plumber on and off for the last 8 years where I have picked up lots of plumbing experience. Showers see a lot of use and sometimes the shower valve can develop a drip or worse yet a leak! If the shower head or tub spout is only dripping (not leaking) due to build up in the valve its usually the cartridge (aka stem) that needs to be replaced. The reason shower cartridges, kitchen sink faucets, bathroom faucets and hose bibs typically leak is due to Temecula valleys hard water. These hard water particles build up into a hard substance that can damage your plumbing fixtures internally. Sometimes when the shower valve isn't serviceable we will un-sweat the old valve and install a new shower valve via the front of the shower which eliminates the need for drywall and paint repairs. In this picture you can see the process of installing the new shower valve from the shower enclosure.
