As much as I hate doing itchy-lation (aka fiberglass insulation) I find it's simply the best way to gain some extra R value on your home. R what? R-value is the level or measure of thermal resistance a specific item has. For instance 2x4 walls have a relatively low R value with R-13 where as an attic can have above R-50! There are several areas of your home that "leak" either allowing heat & cooling from inside the house to escape or these areas can allow hot & cold weather to sneak into your home. These problem areas include: windows, doors, skylights, and poorly insulated attic and wall spaces. The problem is that your drywall is already up and painted right? We have the ability to blow insulation into your walls & attics and create a much better R-value for your home. Doors and windows can be sealed up with new weather stripping and minor adjustments can be made for better alignment. Today we are doing a combination of traditional insulation which is paper backed fiberglass insulation and blow-in insulation which will bring an old garage structure up to current home R-values.
