Kitchen counter caulking (Murrieta)
Caulking can get ugly after it gets mildew and dirt trapped inside the caulking. There are two ways to fix this: One is the cheap way where you simply apply a new larger bead of caulking overtop the old nasty caulking (lame), the other (correct) way is to remove all the old loose, cracked or mildew stained caulking from the joint and start over. The reason covering overtop doesn't work is because the mildew stains show through the new layer of caulking. (I know because I've tried :-) What's worse is if you do manage to apply a large enough bead of caulking to hide the old stuff it will look horrible because it will be so big and sloppy.
